The Yoder Smokers 42" El Dorado Santa Maria Charcoal BBQ Grill represents a departure from traditional barbecue, offering enthusiasts a unique experience in open-fire cooking. Crafted for those who seek an authentic and traditional grilling encounter, this BBQ grill embraces the Santa Maria-style cooking method, connecting users with the early origins of barbecue. With its generous cooking space and captivating live-fire spectacle, it's an ideal choice for large gatherings, events, and anyone who appreciates the allure of open-flame grilling.
Santa Maria grills have deep roots in the ranches of California, where rancheros perfected the art of cooking beef over open flames in the mid-19th century. The El Dorado pays homage to this tradition by providing an engaging cooking experience rooted in timeless techniques. Whether you're searing a steak close to the coals or roasting a large cut with the grate set higher, this grill offers an authentic live-fire experience that transports users back to the origins of barbecue.
Built with Yoder Smokers' renowned craftsmanship and durability, the El Dorado embodies generational quality that transcends being merely a cooking tool. It becomes a culinary companion that sparks creativity and captivates guests with its performance and timeless appeal. For those who seek not just a grill but an experience that inspires and delights, the El Dorado Santa Maria Charcoal Grill delivers on all fronts.
Key features of the El Dorado include its Santa Maria-style cooking method, which allows users to control heat by raising and lowering the food directly over the fire. Made in Kansas, USA, it proudly supports American craftsmanship and ingenuity, ensuring durability and longevity that can be passed down through generations. The grill's cantilevered arms provide an open feel, allowing for easy maneuvering around the grill, while the custom cast hand wheel allows for precise adjustment of the grates' height.
Other notable features include the tub within a tub design, which ensures even heat distribution and retention, and the insulated front door, which minimizes heat radiation for added safety. The grill's chain-lifted grates offer durability and reliability over traditional cable systems, and the wood storage rack provides convenient access to fuel. With its robust construction and thoughtful design, the El Dorado Santa Maria Charcoal BBQ Grill is a standout choice for barbecue enthusiasts seeking a genuine and immersive grilling experience.

How do I pick the right rub for what I'm cooking?
How do I pick the right rub for what I'm cooking?
Start with the protein. Beef loves coarse, pepper-forward rubs. Pork and chicken take well to sweeter, sugar-based blends. Fish and veggies want something lighter. Every product page tells you what the rub was built for, and if you're stuck between two, ask us. We cook with this stuff every weekend.
How long do rubs and sauces stay good?
How long do rubs and sauces stay good?
Unopened, most rubs hold peak flavor for about a year and sauces until the date on the bottle. Once opened, keep rubs sealed away from heat and humidity (not on the shelf above the grill) and refrigerate sauces after opening. If it still smells strong, it still cooks strong.
What if a flavor isn't what I expected?
What if a flavor isn't what I expected?
Give it a second shot before you shelve it. Rubs behave differently depending on the protein, the heat, and how heavy you go. A blend that's just okay on chicken is often unbelievable on pork ribs, and most sauces open up when they're brushed on during the last few minutes instead of after. If you tell us what you cooked and how, we'll tell you how to get the most out of the bottle you've got.
